In the history of every modern day democracy the 1986 EDSA people power revolution stands out out as the most astonishing ,not only because it removed without bloodshed a cruel dictator Ferdinand Marcos but also because all intent and purposes taken together it has at least healed the malignancy of the Filipino nation broken soul .but the wound disunity threatens us again three decades later .Filipinos are still wanting in term of the things they deserve from their own government.EDSA should thought us how to elect the right person for public office. But across the many regions of the country we can only agonise in disbelief as we witness overlords in absolute control of our beloved land.
The EDSA revolution the Philippine was praised worldwide in 1986 when the so called bloodless revolution erupted .called EDSA people power revolution. February 25 1986 marked a significant national event that has been engraved in the hearts and minds of every Filipino.this part of Philippine history gives us a strong sense of pride especially what other nation had attempted to emulate what we have shown the world of the true power of democracy.the true empowerment of democracy was exhibited in EDSA by its successful efforts to oust a tyrant bloodsheed.prayer and rosaries strengthened by faith were the only weapon from President Ferdinand Marcos iron hands.the EDSA is the venue where the peaceful demonstration was held .it was a day that gathered all Filipinos in unity with courage and faith to prevail democracy in the country.it has the power of the people,who assembled in EDSA that restored the Democratic Philippines but what happened after that? After the people power revolution EDSA began an place for the so called “mga batang hamog” and for the informal settlers.yes we are free but we are not losing our freedom in the good way.
